This ancient temple, built by King Mangrai around 1839 BE (approximately 700 years ago), is situated at the foothills of Doi Suthep in Suthep Subdistrict, Mueang Chiang Mai District, about 4 kilometers from the city center.
📍 Highlights of the Temple
✨ Ancient tunnels with four directions, constructed during the reign of King Kuena for meditation practice by Phra Maha Thera Chan. The walls inside feature niches for candle lighting and ancient murals depicting lotus flowers, peonies, and birds.
✨ A 700-year-old stupa in Lanna-style architecture, located above the tunnels and housing a Buddha statue.
