Chiang Mai, Thailand: The most glittering temples I've ever seen | Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep

🇹🇭 Wat Phra That Doi Suthep (Doi Suthep Temple) in Chiang Mai

The most surprising attraction for me.

You can fully experience the Thai people's devout devotion to Buddhism. Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, a popular temple, has over 300 steps and is flanked by two dragons, hence its name.

Of course, walking up and down all those steps is impossible🤣
So we took the cable car. It was a shame we were pressed for time and didn't get to take photos of the steps.

To worship, you take a candle and a flower, walk around in time, and then place them on the steps. Add a small amount of money. The tour guide explained that when worshipping, facing your palms down is giving, while facing up is receiving. They all faced down. Only by giving can you receive. It makes perfect sense❗️

I thought the worshipping routine would be boring for my child, but she was incredibly enthusiastic about it, even putting her hands together. She also happened to see a monk chanting and blessing, and she sat there for a long time. It's wonderful~

Although my family doesn't believe in any particular religion, we still follow the local customs and join in the worship. My mom hasn't been feeling well lately. I hope she recovers quickly and safely. This trip was very difficult for her, and she's not as healthy as she used to be. 😢
We all really need to show filial piety in a timely manner.

I often tell my children, "You will grow up, and I will grow old." Life, old age, sickness, and death are all part of this cycle. I hope to cherish every moment. Given the pandemic, I hope to do what I want to do sooner rather than later. No regrets, no regrets.
