Wat Phra That Doi Kham - Temple of the Golden Mountain

Wat Phra That Doi Kham, also known as the Temple of the Golden Mountain, is located approximately 13 kilometers southwest of Chiang Mai city center, perched atop a hill. The temple offers a stunning view of the Chiang Mai basin and distant mountains, making it a perfect blend of religious significance and scenic beauty.

- The most striking feature of the temple is a 17-meter-tall seated Buddha statue, which is highly visible even from afar and serves as a prominent visual landmark.
- The temple also houses an ancient chedi (stupa), believed to have been constructed around 1,300 years ago. The chedi enshrines sacred relics of the Buddha and other holy objects.
- The temple's entrance is marked by a staircase adorned with golden Naga (serpent) sculptures. This staircase, along with numerous Buddha statues, small shrines, bells, and gong installations, leaves a lasting impression both visually and experientially.
