Wat Phalat (Sakidakami) comes from the word "Phalerd" because many people who followed elephants along the waterfall stream and slipped and fell. Some say that elephants also slipped. When the temple was established, it was named after the waterfall. The name of the temple appears in documents, legends and chronicles. It has a history with Phra That Doi Suthep. It is recorded that during the reign of King Kue Na, he brought the relics that Phra Maha Sumana Thera brought from Sukhothai and invited them to sit on the back of an elephant to be enshrined at Doi Suthep when he stopped by the area of ​​Phalat.
