The Black House Museum is a collection of local art, founded by National Artist Ajarn Thawan Duchanee. This place is a collection of many works, including architecture, paintings, sculptures, wood carvings and patterns, which require skill to make. It is considered a very delicate art.
Most of the architecture is in the Gale style, with more than 40 houses in total. Most of them are in black tones, which look unusual and interesting. Each house is decorated with beautifully carved wood. In addition to the carved wood, it is also decorated with animal horns, such as buffalo horns, deer horns, and animal bones, such as elephant bones. The area outside the Black House Museum is a display of paintings and sculptures.
Location: Black House Museum, Tambon Nang Lae, Amphoe Mueang Chiang Rai, Chiang Rai Province
