Black House Museum

Baan Dam or Baan Dam Museum is located in Nang Lae Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province. It was built by Ajarn Thawan Duchanee, a national artist who was skilled in painting and sculpture. He created many works of art, both paintings and sculptures. Although Ajarn Thawan has passed away, Baan Dam is still open for tourists to come and experience the beauty of unique art. Baan Dam is a group of houses built in Lanna style. Every house is painted black, which is the origin of the name "Baan Dam", which is Ajarn Thawan's favorite color. Each house is decorated with beautifully carved wood. In addition to the carved wood, it is also decorated with animal horns such as buffalo horns, deer horns, and animal bones such as elephant bones. #Baan Dam
