✨One of Japan's oldest and most beautiful castles, Matsumoto Castle, is located in the heart of Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture. Its striking black exterior contrasts with the sky and the Japanese Alps behind, earning it the nickname "Crow Castle."
🌳 The surrounding atmosphere is tranquil and classic, with ponds surrounding it and lush Japanese-style gardens. A unique red bridge leads to the castle. Inside the castle, you can climb to the top floor for 360-degree views of Matsumoto City and admire antiques such as weapons, swords, and authentic samurai armor. Admission is ¥1,200 (book online) and ¥1,300 (purchase at the castle entrance).
🏠 The castle grounds also include teahouses, souvenir shops, and a small museum, perfect for a half-day or full day. It's also easily accessible, just 15 minutes from JR Matsumoto Station.
If you have the chance to visit Nagano, don't miss Matsumoto Castle, a National Treasure of Japan. You'll fall in love with its historical charm and timeless beauty ❤️
💡To visit the castle, open daily from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (last entry at 4:30 PM). During Golden Week and summer, it's open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM (last entry at 5:30 PM).
