Wat Rong Suea Ten, a landmark in Chiang Rai Province. Most people probably think of the Baan Dam Museum of Professor Thawan or Wat Rong Khun of Professor Chalermchai. But recently, a new and striking architecture has emerged: Wat Rong Suea Ten. It is located in Rong Suea Ten Village, Rim Kok Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province. It is located on the bank of the Kok River on the left bank to the east of Chiang Rai Municipality, not far from Chiang Rai City. In the past, this place was the location of an abandoned temple 80-100 years ago. According to the stories of the elders, at that time there were not many houses and people living there. Therefore, there were many wild animals, especially tigers. Villagers who passed through that area often saw tigers jumping across the canal, so they called this area "Rong Suea Ten" and the nearby villages "Ban Rong Suea Ten". Wat Rong Suea Ten was built because the villagers of Rong Suea Ten had no place to make merit in the village. When making merit on important days, they had to go to other temples, causing the villagers to scatter. Therefore, they joined forces to renovate this abandoned temple to be the center of the minds of the villagers of Rong Suea Ten and a place to perform religious ceremonies on important days. Therefore, they built this temple and named it “Wat Rong Suea Ten” The most obvious highlight of Wat Rong Suea Ten is the temple of Wat Rong Suea Ten, built and designed by a local artist from Chiang Rai, Mr. Phutta Kabkaew, or as people know him as Sala Nok. After he graduated, he had the opportunity to become a disciple of Ajarn Chalermchai Khositphiphat in the construction of Wat Rong Khun, and absorbed the art of Buddhist art from Ajarn Chalermchai. You could say that he was a disciple of the bottom of the hut. The construction of the temple of Wat Rong Suea Ten was on October 27, 2005, measuring 13 meters wide and 48 meters long. It was completed on January 22, 2016, and took 11 years to complete.
