Ancient Chiang Saen Monument, over 1,600 years old
ðPlace name: Wat Phra That Chom Kitti
ðLocation: Tambon Wiang, Amphoe Chiang Saen, Chiang Rai Province
Wat Phra That Chom Kitti, Amphoe Chiang Saen, Chiang Rai Province is another temple with an extremely old chedi, built around the year 924, plus or minus, over 1,600 years, which is truly an extremely old monument. King Pangkrat and King Phrom Ratcha-oroth built Phra That Chom Kitti around the year 924.
Next to Phra That Chom Kitti, there is another important spot: there is a pagoda enshrining the royal remains of King Pha Mueang, who helped establish the Sukhothai Kingdom, for people to pay homage to. There is also a chapel with a very beautiful Buddha statue inside. The Buddha statue looks like it has skin that is like a real person. After paying homage to Phra That Chom Kitti, Before returning, in front of the chapel, there is a small viewpoint where you can see the view from a high angle before returning.
