South Yandang Mountain is located in Pingyang, 87 kilometers from downtown Wenzhou and 32 kilometers from Pingyang's main city gate. It covers a total area of 97.68 square kilometers. The northern peak, Mingwang Peak, boasts a boggy swamp, where wild geese roost in autumn and winter. The area, which faces North Yandang Mountain from afar, gives it its name. The scenic area, characterized by its six distinctive features: serene streams, secluded caves, unique peaks, scenic rocks, silver waterfalls, and stone chasms, is known as "Southern Zhejiang's Most Beautiful Scenery." Together with North Yandang Mountain and Central Yandang Mountain, it is known as the Yandang Mountain Scenic Area and is a nationally recognized key mountain scenic spot.
