The Golden Triangle: A Place Where You Can See Three Countries

A famous location even mentioned in textbooks
The Golden Triangle (สามเหลี่ยมทองคำ)
This is a mountainous area in Southeast Asia where Thailand 🇹🇭, Myanmar 🇲🇲, and Laos 🇱🇦 meet at the Mekong River.
There are temples and many souvenir shops, making it feel like an ordinary tourist spot.
When I mentioned visiting the Golden Triangle, some people asked if it was dangerous, but nothing happened during my visit! However, I did see some soldiers with guns near the Myanmar-Thailand border higher up in the mountains.
Living in Japan, it's rare to experience such things, but it reminded me that conflicts are still ongoing in the world.
