Golden Triangle - Where Three Nations Meet

High above the Mekong River in northern Chiang Rai, the Golden Triangle Viewpoint offers a stunning panorama of a legendary borderland—where Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar converge. Once infamous for its opium trade, today the area is a peaceful, scenic destination rich in history and symbolism.

From the viewpoint near Sop Ruak village, you’ll see the mighty rivers—the Mekong and Ruak—marking the boundaries between nations. A giant golden Buddha gazes serenely over the landscape, and informative signs help you identify each country across the water.
