🏡 Pong Sanuk Temple: The exact date of its establishment is unknown. However, the name Pong Sanuk Temple appears in the 61st Chronicle, which states that the temple, also known as Puang Sanuk, was renovated and constructed in 2040 BE.
🏠 Architectural style suggests that the temple was likely built around the 21st Buddhist century.
⛺ The ordination hall (Ubosot) has been reconstructed from the original vihara.
🏠 The vihara houses the principal Buddha image in the Maravijaya posture, along with several other Buddha statues of various sizes on a raised base.
🛕 The main stupa is small and features a traditional Lanna-style round shape. Originally, the base consisted of a single layer of inverted and upright lotus petals, with a high wooden belly adorned with two lines of glass beads.
🛕 Currently, the base has been modified, possibly during later renovations, resulting in a new design. The wooden belly now features two layers of inverted and upright lotus petals, with two lines of glass beads, a tiered base, and a recessed lotus base.
🛕 Above this is a central tiered lotus base, ascending in three levels. The bell-shaped stupa has square floral patterns between four parallel lines, a square throne with recessed corners, and a pinnacle supported by lotus petals.
🏡 Pong Sanuk Temple: No. 381, Rim Khong Soi 6, Wiang Subdistrict, Chiang Saen District, Chiang Rai Province.
