Sometimes the best café is the one with no walls at all. At Inage Seaside Park in Chiba, a long wooden deck stretches out toward the ocean, offering an open, relaxing space where anyone can unwind for free. Chairs and tables are set up along the pier, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a quiet coffee with a view of the sea.

You can grab a drink from the nearby café, or simply sip coffee from a vending machine while feeling the ocean breeze — both are equally satisfying here. The park also features a glamping area and bonfire space, which was open until June but is expected to return during the winter season.

Locals say the sunset is the best time to visit, when the sky turns gold and the water reflects warm hues. Morning walks are lovely, but I can’t wait to come back and watch the evening light fade into the horizon.
