Set along the harbor, the Chiba Prefectural Museum of Art is a serene space where art and nature coexist beautifully. Despite its proximity to Tokyo, the museum feels like a seaside retreat — surrounded by open skies, gentle ocean breezes, and a lush green garden that invites you to linger.

During my visit, the museum was hosting the “Takashima Yajuro: 50 Years in Retrospect” exhibition, showcasing the delicate yet powerful brushwork of this renowned Japanese painter. His works, filled with quiet intensity and natural beauty, resonated deeply within the tranquil atmosphere of the museum.

Beyond the galleries, the outdoor sculpture garden adds another dimension to the experience — each piece set against the backdrop of the sea and sky, blending art with the surrounding landscape.
