Bustling Xi’an 🏯🏮

In the thick warmth of a Xi’an summer afternoon, we climbed the steps to the Ancient City Wall, its massive grey stones radiating heat from centuries under the sun. From up high, red lanterns swayed gently in the breeze, and cyclists pedaled by on rented bikes, laughter echoing along the wide ramparts. Looking out, rooftops stretched in every direction, old temples nestled among modern towers, a view that held all of Xi’an’s layered stories at once. 🏯🚲☀️
As evening came, the air softened and the wall began to glow with lantern light. Vendors set up small stalls below, selling roasted lamb skewers and cold plum juice. We lingered at a turret, watching twilight wrap the city in shades of gold and rose, grateful to stand on stones that had guarded this ancient capital for over 600 years. 🌆🏮🍢
