📝 Personal Thoughts

Chishang Station is located in Chishang Township, Taitung County, and is a third-class station on the Taiwan Railways Taitung Line, situated 108.8 kilometers from the Hualien terminus. The station features one island platform (Platforms 2A and 2B) and one side platform (Platform 1). Trains primarily stop at Platform 2B, with Platforms 2A and 1 used only when necessary. According to 2024 data, the station handles approximately 1,165 passengers daily, ranking 129th among Taiwan Railways stations.

Originally built in 1924 and named "Chishang Yi," the station was renamed Chishang Station after World War II. The original wooden station building deteriorated over time and was replaced with a concrete structure in 1968. In 2012, as part of the "New Stations Movement for Hualien and Taitung," the station underwent reconstruction, with the new building completed in January 2017. The design of the new station incorporates a "granary-inspired" theme, blending natural elements (wind and water) and cultural elements (granary) from the Chishang area to create a unique regional architectural style.

Outside the station, visitors can find the famous "Chishang Bento" sales area, where they can enjoy authentic Chishang lunchboxes. Additionally, the station is surrounded by several attractions, such as Brown Boulevard and Paradise Road, making it ideal for a day trip.
