🍜 Fresh Arrival Flavor – Baikoken at New Chitose Airport

We touched down at New Chitose and headed straight to the Baikoken stall on Ramen Street for lunch—it was the perfect first bowl to kick off our trip.

Their soy sauce ramen, a signature from Asahikawa, was deeply flavorful with a broth made from pork, chicken bones, dried sardines, and kelp. It had a strong umami punch and leaned slightly on the salty side, but in a way that felt bold and satisfying. The medium-fine curly noodles were springy and held the broth really well.

We also tried their cheese gyoza—crispy on the outside with a creamy cheese filling inside that offered a nice contrast to the ramen. It was a fun, tasty side dish that we weren’t expecting but ended up really enjoying.

Though it’s located in the airport, Baikoken didn’t feel rushed or touristy. The staff were helpful and the restaurant had a cozy, casual atmosphere. They even helped us stow our luggage so we could eat comfortably.

For a quick, authentic bowl of ramen straight after landing, Baikoken is a solid choice. Full flavors, quick service, and a great introduction to Hokkaido ramen.
