Laojun Cave, a millennium Taoist temple hidden in the Nanshan Mountains of Chongqing, is known as the "No. 1 Taoist Temple in Western Sichuan". It is half place of faith and half scenic spot.
-
Xishan Gate is one of the main entrances to Laojun Cave. It combines the Ming and Qing styles, with steep stone steps and a simple gatehouse. There are Taoist couplets and carvings on it, which reflect the artistic conception of "Tao follows nature".
-
Inside the gate, you can see the core buildings such as the Sanqing Hall and the Jade Emperor Building. Some of them were rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty, retaining traditional brackets and painted elements.
