📍First stop: Yangtze Cableway
One of the must-see attractions in Chongqing, the city card! From No. 151 Xinhua Road, Yuzhong, take the cableway across the Yangtze River, a trip to both banks, outside the window of the high-rise buildings, rivers, mountain city complex landforms in front of you, the nine-square grid of magic sense full!

- Opening hours: 08:00-22:00 (November), 08:00-21:00 (Winter)

Warm tip: more people in the afternoon and evening, it is recommended to go around 8 am, avoid the crowd while clouds and fog especially feel ~ when entering the venue remember to brush ID / scan code, ticket inspection is more strict. Climbing the ropeway in the rain, the window view is more layered!
📍Second stop: Lao Jun Cave Taoist Temple
Ride up Nanshan and come to Laojun Cave, the most spiritual Taoist temple on the south bank of Chongqing. Walking up the old stone stairs, looking at the roofs of Chinese-style temples, and watching the shadows of trees in the rain against the ancient buildings, it's like walking into a martial arts movie. Nantianmen is a must-visit spot. Looking at the rivers and lakes of the entire city, you can feel a rare tranquility. The trees, river views and stairs around the temple are intertwined, great for photography ~
- Address: No. 29, Laojunpo, Nanshan Street, Nan'an District, Chongqing
- Opening hours: 08:00 - 17:00
Itinerary Tips (Reflections):
1. The Yangtze River Cableway is recommended to bring an umbrella, Chongqing weather often has light rain, cableway queues need to wait, longer outdoor exposure time.
2. The stairs up the mountain from Laojun Cave are steep, be sure to wear sneakers, the air in the woods along the way is super good, more comfortable to stroll on cloudy and rainy days.
3. Temple architecture photography is recommended to use far and near interlaced angles - close shots can capture the details of the eaves, distant views are best brought to the river and city skyline, all extremely flavorful!
4. Inside the Taoist temple can buy blessing divination or try to meditate, if necessary can be according to the actual situation to rejoice merit, not forced.
5. There is a small teahouse on the return trip, you can try Chongqing authentic covered bowl tea, warm the stomach and heart.
🍜 Food recommendations
There is a roadside noodle shop near Laojun Cave in Nanshan. For lunch, we recommend trying Chongqing Noodles or Pepper Chicken. The authentic taste is OK for value. There is a snack street around Xinhua Road in Yuzhong, where barbecue skewers and bean curd rice noodles are very popular.
🚕Transportation guide
- Yangtze Cableway is close to Tencent Building, Liberation Monument Business District, Metro Line 1/6 is closer, it only takes 5-10 minutes to walk to Xinhua Road Cableway Station.
- Laojun Cave can take the South Bank District "Nanshan Bus" to Laojun Cave Station, or take a taxi up the mountain.
Tips for the destination:
- Chongqing climate is humid, rainy roads are slippery; photography is best to wear bright clothes, cloudy days to shoot temple special film.
- Late March to November is the best time to shoot temples, Chinese architecture, with soft light.
Best for a day quick, experience Chongqing landmarks and spiritual healing ~ next stop want to see the city night view / try Chongqing hot pot can be planned down ~
