Tucked into the green hills of Chongqing, the White Residence stood still under the summer sun its white walls and shaded courtyards whispering of stories long past. Once a wartime mansion turned prison during the Republic era, it now held echoes of history in every creaking floorboard and barred window. We walked through solemn rooms filled with faded photos, resistance writings, and personal relics that brought the past painfully close. 🏠📖🌞
