#Travel to save the world
The first “talking forest” in Thailand
From an abandoned shrimp farm... to a complete mangrove forest at Ao Thung Kha, Chumphon Archipelago National Park
Have you ever thought that... a forest can talk?
At “Ao Thung Kha Mangrove Forest” in Chumphon Province, the forest does not just speak through the sound of the wind, birds or waves. But it really “speaks” through knowledge signs along the nature study trail, telling stories of each type of tree, ecosystem and history of area restoration, allowing us to know the “forest” more deeply.
---
The beginning of this forest…not beautiful but valuable
This place used to be a “degraded shrimp farm”, with salty soil, polluted water and almost no life left.
But with the efforts of the community, conservationists and the national park that have worked together to restore it for more than 20 years, today “Ao Thung Kha” has become one of the most complete mangrove forests in Thailand.
And it has been registered as an international wetland (RAMSAR Site) that is recognized worldwide.

Highlights of the visit:
A wooden nature study bridge that stretches into the heart of the forest Take you for a walk under the shade of the mangrove, Acacia, and Lamphu trees with a sign that says "Tell a Story". Each tree seems to have its own voice.
The suspension bridge is a popular photo spot that lets you see the mangrove forest of Ao Tung Kha in a panoramic view - refreshing for both the eyes and the heart.
A variety of aquatic animals and shorebirds that use this place as their home - Acacia crabs, jumping fish, kingfish, these are signs of nature that has truly recovered.

Things to know before traveling:

---
Summary:
The "talking forest" is not just for walking around, but also for "listening" to nature deeply.
Ao Tung Kha is proof that the restoration of nature is not just a matter of time... but is a true intention. And the result is a "forest" that lets us hear the sound of life again. I recommend it.
