Thousand Island Lake Scenic Area (5A Scenic Area)

Located in the central-western part of Zhejiang Province, Thousand Island Lake gets its name from the 1,078 green islands scattered across the lake. Known for its pure water quality and stunning scenery, it is a national 5A-level tourist attraction and an important source of drinking water.

Self-driving is necessary to reach this destination, as public transportation alone makes it quite difficult to access. During summer, afternoon thunderstorms are common, so it's recommended to keep an eye on the weather forecast.
