Located southeast of Xiangshan Temple, the Chiang-Song Villa was built in 1936. The local government commissioned this two-story building to celebrate Chiang Kai-shek's 50th birthday. Chiang Kai-shek and his wife frequently visited the villa during their summer stay in Luoyang.
The Chiang-Song Villa, covering over 650 square meters, features a semi-gabled roof, a clear-water arcade-style loft, and boasts over 20 rooms, including offices, reception rooms, conference rooms, bathrooms, and bedrooms. Such a building was considered quite high-end in the Central Plains at the time. The plaque above the main entrance, inscribed with the characters "Chiang-Song Villa," was inscribed by Chiang Hsiao-yen.
Entering the small building, the conference room is on the right side of the corridor, and opposite it is the reception room. Above it hangs a portrait of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, next to which is a plaque inscribed with the words "天下为公" (The World for All) by Sun Yat-sen. Taking the stairs on the left side of the corridor to the second floor, Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Mei-ling lived their daily lives. The first office is simply furnished, and the bookcases contain Chiang Kai-shek's favorite books, such as the "Zizhi Tongjian." From the guardhouse next to the bedroom, one can see the Xishan Grottoes across the street.
Temperate monsoon climate; the Chiang-Song Villa is located in the Xiangshan Temple of the Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang, suitable for travel in all seasons.
