A Perfect Day in the City of London: History, Skyscrapers, and Hidden Gems

Fleet Street, which stretches east to west through the heart of London,
is more than just a street.
It has long been an intellectual street where the press, literature, law, and religion intersected,
and it is a place where traces of London beginning to become a ‘city’ remain.
Narrow, winding alleys connect Victorian stone buildings,
and quaint churches and courts that have endured for centuries embrace the street.
Once lined with British newspaper offices,
this street is now quiet, but still retains the sound of typewriters and the smell of ink.
At the end of the street stands St. Paul’s Cathedral,
and at each corner of the street, quiet spaces such as St. Bride’s Church, St. Dunstan-in-the-West,
and Temple Court and Inner Temple Garden
beat with a different rhythm from the noise of the city.
