🌿 Experience 6 km of pure magic around Dove Lake, nestled beneath the majestic Cradle Mountain. Wander through wild trails, ancient rainforests, and breathe in air that invigorates your soul. 🍃
While summer is the most popular season to visit, we went during the tail end of winter, where the weather was still cold, accompanied by rain and snow. ❄️🌨️
The track we chose was "Dove Lake" 🏞️🏔️, a trail that takes about 2-3 hours to complete, covering approximately 6 km.
Difficulty Level: Grade 3 – Recommended for those with basic bushwalking experience. The path includes short steep sections, uneven surfaces, and several stairways. Additionally, be cautious of water flowing along the trail, especially since snow during our visit caused water to stream across the path.
This 6-kilometer trail is considered one of Tasmania's most iconic routes. It begins at Dove Lake, a natural glacial lake situated at the base of Cradle Mountain. The trail winds up and down around the lake, skirts beneath the mountain, and loops back through stunning rainforests to the starting point.
Along the way, you'll encounter Tasmania's unique flora, such as buttongrass, myrtle, sassafras, fagus, and King Billy pines.
📍Tip: Follow the trail clockwise 🕰️
