Running Through a Fairy Tale – A Day Trip to Ba Na Hills in Da Nang and the Alpine Coaster Experience.

Ba Na Hills in Da Nang felt like a village straight out of a fairy tale. From European-style cathedrals and bridges above the clouds to street performances and finally the Alpine Coaster – it was a perfect itinerary packed with diverse emotions in just one day.

Starting at 8 AM from the accommodation, we arrived at Ba Na Hills around 9 AM. Upon entering, we took a cable car that ascended through the clouds. The view of both mountains and the sea was breathtaking as we reached the summit.

The first stop was, of course, the Golden Bridge. Walking on the massive hand-shaped structure was a unique experience, and the photos turned out amazing.

Next was the French Village, filled with European-style buildings. Wandering through cathedrals, fountains, and squares made time fly by. The street performances and parades held intermittently added to the lively atmosphere of the trip. For lunch, we leisurely enjoyed a buffet with a mix of local and Western dishes.

In the afternoon, it was finally time for the Alpine Coaster experience! Riding the single-person rail sled through the mountains was more thrilling than expected. You could control the speed yourself, making it enjoyable without pressure, and the forest and breeze passing by were incredibly refreshing. I understood why it’s so popular among both kids and adults.

Lastly, we visited the indoor amusement park at Sun World for some light attractions, wrapping up the day by descending via cable car around 4 PM.

Nature, a European-style village, a theme park, and the Alpine Coaster… Who would have thought such a combination was possible in Southeast Asia? The itinerary at Ba Na Hills in Da Nang was so packed that the day felt too short.
