[Miyagi] Sendai: A city that combines urban convenience with nature and history

First in Sendai, we visited the ruins of Sendai Castle and enjoyed the view from the hilltop along with the statue of Date Masamune on horseback. The panoramic view of the city was refreshing, and it seemed as if the weight of history and the bustle of modern times were connected as one. We then visited Zuihoden. The mausoleum, quietly standing amongst the cedar groves, was beautifully decorated in brilliant colors, and it seemed as if Masamune's presence was there beyond time. The quiet and sacred space naturally soothed our hearts. After returning to the city, we tried the famous beef tongue, and were impressed by its fragrant flavor and tenderness. Sendai is a city packed with history, nature, and gourmet food, and every time we walked around it we discovered something new.
