The Flowers Have Bloomed Again - The Grand Rhododendron Festival of Baili Rhododendron in Bijie, Guizhou

Reading in the past always leaves more or less of a mark on the later stages of life. For example, during my student years, I read a lot of information about rhododendrons in "China National Geography," which to some extent inspired me to visit the western Sichuan Plateau, the mountainous areas along the southeast coast, and the Baili Rhododendron area in Bijie, Guizhou, to see the rhododendrons covering the mountains with my own eyes. They might be blooming in large patches, or scattered across the mountains, or perhaps not yet in full bloom when I arrived, but all of these became profound memories in my travel and photography journey, no less impactful than that reading experience.

The photo was taken in the China Baili Rhododendron Scenic Area between Dafang County and Qianxi City in Bijie, Guizhou.

Some introductions about this place:
1. The China Baili Rhododendron Scenic Area is located in the central part of Bijie City in northwest Guizhou Province. It is the largest rhododendron scenic area in China and the largest natural garden in the world, known as the "Earth's Ribbon, World Garden";
2. The main scenic areas are divided into: Jinpo Scenic Area (including Baihuaping, Huamei Ridge, Mayinglin, Jinpo Ridge), Pudi Scenic Area (including Zuijiuniu, Shexiang Ridge, Wucai Road, Shuhua Peak, and other attractions), as well as Midihe Waterfall, Rhododendron King, and other scenic spots. The general admission ticket is 130 yuan per person;
3. The Baili Rhododendron Scenic Area has more than 60 species of rhododendrons, covering all five subgenera of rhododendrons worldwide. The most remarkable feature here is that different flowers grow on the same tree, so for someone like me who once learned about rhododendrons, this is an unmissable viewing spot.
