WHY SOUTH GATE IS THE SCENIC WAY INTO SHUANGLANG ANCIENT TOWN

#cherryblossom25

If you're visiting Shuanglang Ancient Town, choosing the right gate can shape your experience.

We entered through the North Gate, where a row of lively lakeside cafes greets you right at the entrance, perfect for a quick stop with a view.

But if you're after something more charming and photogenic, the South Gate might win your heart.

We didn’t have enough time to explore the South Gate deeply, but from what we saw, it had a more aesthetic vibe, with quaint cafes tucked along cobbled alleys, both by the lakeside and within the traditional lanes.

Though most shops sell similar items like flower cakes and tie-dye crafts, the preserved architecture and slow pace gave it an old-world charm.

Adding to the beauty, the walk was filled with blooming flowers, green vines trailing old walls, and shaded spots under mature trees. I only wish we had more time to wander and soak it all in.

TIPS :
Enter from the South Gate if you're keen on photo spots, slow walks, and cosy cafe hopping.
Choose the North Gate if you're looking for convenience and quick lakeside access.

Also, there is a big halal restaurant located near the pier at South Gate.
