Dali - Three Pagodas

One of Dali’s most iconic landmarks, the Three Pagodas (崇圣三塔) stand proudly against the backdrop of Cangshan Mountains, offering a glimpse into ancient Buddhist architecture and spiritual serenity.
I visited in the afternoon, and let me tell you — the sun was blazing! 😅 The walk from the Pagodas to the Daxiong Baodian (大雄宝殿) was scenic but extremely hot. If you’re visiting in summer, don’t forget a hat, sunscreen, and water.
🌿 Thankfully, there are cafés and souvenir shops along the way where you can take a break, cool down, and enjoy a moment of peace before continuing your temple journey.
✨ Highlights:
• The Three Pagodas are over 1,000 years old, symbolizing Dali’s rich cultural and religious heritage.
• The temple complex behind is grand, quiet, and deeply spiritual — definitely worth the uphill walk.
• 📸 Picture-perfect reflection shots await at the lotus pond in front of the pagodas!
💡 Travel Tips:
• Visit in the morning or late afternoon for softer light and cooler weather.
• Wear comfortable shoes — the complex is big with plenty of walking involved.
• Don’t miss the Buddhist chants softly playing in the temple — very calming.
Whether you’re here for the history, architecture, or just stunning mountain views, Chongsheng Temple offers a peaceful yet awe-inspiring escape.
