Erhai Lake is located in Dali City, Yunnan Province and Erhai Lake sits at an altitude of about 1,972 meters (6,470 ft) above sea level. It stretches approximately 42 kilometers (26 miles) from north to south and about 8 kilometers (5 miles) across at its widest point, making it the second-largest freshwater lake in Yunnan Province, after Dianchi Lake.
