The location is fantastic, right in a village above March Street, at the foot of Cangshan Mountain! Since it’s outside the ancient city, it’s completely quiet at night, allowing you to have a great sleep.

Also, the homestay’s wabi-sabi style decoration is just perfect! No flashy decorations, just simple solid wood furniture, wooden ornaments, and the scenic pond in the courtyard on the first floor⛲, where the water reflects the sky☁️ and flowers🌸. It’s perfect for photos📷—I posted a nine-grid on my Moments, and all the comments were asking for the address!

Finally, I have to praise the homestay’s attention to detail! The free breakfast is really substantial, with plenty of food and it tastes great; afternoon tea includes rose tea🍵 and homemade cake🍰 by the host, very delicious; the viewing platform on the fourth floor is also a wonderful surprise—on clear days, you can see the nineteen peaks of Cangshan⛰️ and the vast Erhai Lake🌊 during the day, with an incredibly wide view🔭.

The homestay also thoughtfully provides a shuttle🚗 to drop you off near the Cangshan gate, less than 10 minutes by car, so no worries about transportation when exploring the ancient city.
