Found a treasure in Dali! This seaside boutique hotel hides all the gentleness of Erhai Lake～

Just arriving at the entrance was stunning! White walls and gray tiles nestled halfway up the mountain, and the moment we opened the wooden door, the breeze from Erhai Lake carried the scent of osmanthus flowers, more fragrant than any perfume. Our room had a huge terrace with a rattan lounge chair facing the lake. At three in the afternoon, the sunlight scattered on the water like a sheet of gold foil, a beauty that no phone camera could capture even a fraction of.

The best part is the evening! The sunset dyed the clouds orange, and the distant Cangshan Mountains looked like they were soaked in syrup, with the air itself sweet. The housekeeper brought roasted milk fan; the outside was crispy and the inside tender, paired with homemade plum wine. One sip warmed the whole body.

In the middle of the night, I got up and found the terrace lights still on—not glaring incandescent bulbs, but small string lights hanging under the eaves, like stars fallen to earth. Leaning on the railing watching the moon over Erhai Lake, I suddenly understood what it means when they say “the wind and moon are beautiful, and the world is romantic.”
