Daqing 2-Day Winter Tour Guide: Winter Fishing, Hot Springs, and More!

Winter is coming, and Harbin is about to become a popular travel destination. However, I would like to recommend Daqing, a city next to Harbin. There are relatively fewer tourists here, but there are still plenty of fun things to do.

Day 1: As we all know, Daqing is an oil city, and there are three museums you can visit: The first is the Daqing Museum, which features mammoths, bison, and rhinoceros bones. No wonder oil is produced here, as a large number of ancient fossils have been unearthed here.

The second is the Oil Museum, which locals also call the Oil Cube. It mainly displays the history of Daqing oil production and extraction. This part is actually very interesting, as it turns out that Northeast China was a big lake in ancient times.

The third is the Iron Man Museum, which is a tear-jerker. In the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Wang Jinxi led the workers to develop the Daqing Oilfield with unimaginable spirit. Their perseverance and courage will bring tears to your eyes.

There is a food street in Longfeng, Daqing, in the Tiedong New District. It is also called the Pit Roast Street, where everything can be roasted. It is a bit like a Xinjiang naan oven, and the roasted dishes are delicious. Transportation: It takes about 50 minutes to travel from Harbin to Daqing by high-speed train.

Day 2: You can stay at Lianhuan Lake for a day, where the hot springs in the ice and snow are very comfortable. It takes 15 or 30 minutes to travel from Daqing to Dorbod by high-speed train.

Dorbod Lianhuan Lake is famous for its hot springs, but there are also many fun things to do here. You can participate in the winter fishing ceremony, row dragon boats and have snowball fights in the snow, ride horses in the snow (Ji He National Horse Racing Course), and more. The highlight is, of course, the hot springs in the snow. The water is hot outside and cold inside, and you can even try hot pot in the hot springs.

Daqing's ancient history is very interesting. After learning about it at the Daqing Museum, you can visit Lianhuan Lake. The ancient lake has now been divided into many small lakes, and Daqing is also known as the "City of a Hundred Lakes." Lianhuan Lake is composed of 18 lakes, and there are various activities on the ice in winter. You can also enjoy a full fish feast here, similar to the winter fishing in Chagan Lake, Jilin, with all kinds of big fish.

Since Dorbod, where Lianhuan Lake is located, is also a Mongolian autonomous county, you can enjoy a full lamb feast after the full fish feast. The roast lamb in Heilongjiang is very different from other places. Lianhuan Lake is already connected to Zhalong, so after visiting Daqing, you can also go to Qiqihar to see red-crowned cranes and eat barbecue. You can enjoy the whole Heilongjiang trip.
