Datong Yungang Jianguo Hotel, High Value for Money

For this trip to Datong, I deliberately chose the prestigious old-school Datong Yungang Jianguo Hotel. My stay can be summed up in two words: absolutely fantastic! 👏

Sunday breakfast at Datong Yungang Jianguo Hotel featured a rich buffet spread with distinctive local flavors.

When unsure what to eat, just head to Yungang Grand Hotel's buffet with friends! Must say Yungang's buffet is incredibly comprehensive and offers great value. Lobster is limited to one per person, but the variety is extensive—Western pastries, Chinese dim sum, sashimi, and juices are all excellent. Definitely a buffet worth revisiting! Great ambiance at 398 RMB per person.

【Enchanting Nightscape, Embracing Serene Beauty】
As night falls, the city dons a different charm. The view from the room at this hour is breathtaking—the distant glow of the ancient city, standing for millennia, looks especially captivating under the tranquil night sky. Don’t forget your camera to capture this rare romantic moment!

📝 Summary: True to its legacy as the capital of the Northern Wei Dynasty, this historic city boasts numerous cultural relics, many of which are among China's first batch of key national heritage sites! Worth exploring in detail (except for the Hanging Temple, I hired guides for all sites—costly but worthwhile). The itinerary was fulfilling yet never felt rushed or exhausting. The city is clean and green, with picturesque landscapes. The culinary scene is diverse and delightful!
