Jianchuan Museum Cluster National Defense Weapons Museum was completed and opened in 2009.

Exhibition Layout

Indoor Exhibition Hall: With the development of weapons as the main theme, the exhibition is divided into seven units: the origin of weapons, the Bronze Age, the power of steel, the rise of firearms, modern firearms, contemporary weapons, and a tour of contemporary Chinese weapons. The exhibition displays various types of weapons from ancient to modern times, using scene restoration, multimedia interaction, and weapon display to make the exhibition highly participatory and interactive.

Outdoor Exhibition Hall: Mainly displays large heavy weapons such as tanks, aircraft, missiles, and torpedo boats, and the layout of the exhibition panels has been standardized and adjusted to make the display more reasonable and intuitive.

Exhibit Content

Cold Weapons: Displays weapons such as knives, swords, spears, and shields used in ancient wars, reflecting the craftsmanship and warfare methods of the time.

Firearms: Displays firearms such as muskets and cannons, including the Ming Dynasty's Hongyi Cannon, reflecting the changes in warfare after the invention of gunpowder.

Modern Weapons: Includes various types, categories, and calibers of guns and cannons, such as the old rifles used by the Red Army, Czech machine guns from the War of Resistance, Thompson submachine guns from the Liberation War, DP machine guns used in the Battle of Triangle Hill, 40 anti-tank rocket launchers from the Zhenbao Island self-defense counterattack, Type 56 squad machine guns from the Sino-Indian border conflict, 82mm recoilless rifles, cannons, and Type 62 light tanks from the Sino-Vietnamese self-defense counterattack, etc.

Venue Significance
National Defense Education: The museum enhances national defense education by displaying the history of weapon development and promoting national defense knowledge, allowing visitors to learn about national defense knowledge and enhance their patriotism.
Historical Witness: The weapons in the museum are witnesses to China's modern history, reflecting the equipment level and fighting spirit of the Chinese army in different historical periods, and reminding people of the wars and hardships in history, and to cherish peace.
