Sugawara no Michizane is enshrined at Tenmangu Shrine
Sugawara no Michizane is the "God of Learning" and "God of Calligraphy", so many students come here to pray for academic success (I feel a bit like Wenchang Emperor in China)

Dazaifu is a charming city in Fukuoka Prefecture, famous for Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, a shrine dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning. From central Fukuoka, you can take the Nishitetsu Tenjin-Omuta Line and arrive at Dazaifu Station in about 30 minutes. The scenery along the way is beautiful and very suitable for taking photos.
