1⃣️ Dongguan Songshan Lake Town
Songshan Lake in Dongguan truly is the crown jewel of Dongguan parks, 🚴 cycling around the lake is 22 kilometers. Here, we recommend just enjoying the most beautiful sections for sightseeing and photos, about 4-6 kilometers total, so it’s best to reserve at least half a day. Check out the little train 🚂 and take photos while cycling around the lake 📸️. For those wanting to visit a European-style town, you can drive to Charles Bridge, park, and walk left for 10 minutes to see the castle.
2⃣️ Dongguan Memory
A distinctive arcade cultural street in Dongguan, the renovated area not only has a vintage charm but also a trendy vibe, with creative shops, coffee shops, and boutiques. It’s great for photos and shopping, and you can also check in at the Dongguan character wall for a souvenir ✔️.
3⃣️ Weiyuan Fort
One of the Opium War battlefield sites, through the ruins and broken walls, you can understand the destructiveness and irreversibility of the war. Even if you didn’t experience it, you can learn about history here. It has now become a popular check-in spot where you can see cannons and the fort up close and enjoy the sea view.

🏠Accommodation
Self-driving trips really require some homework. This time we stayed at Tianmao Liyue Hotel Dongguan. The hotel’s location is excellent, very close to Humen High-Speed Rail Station and the subway station, with great cost performance and quality. The hotel is elegant and grand, with complete facilities including a chess and card room, gym, and conference rooms. The best part is the accommodation price is about the cost of two meals, really great✨.
🍗Dining
1⃣️Dinner and breakfast were both at the hotel, with an average price of just over 50 RMB per person, very cost-effective. The dishes are fresh and light in flavor. The famous roast goose is very good, and snacks are free to eat as much as you want✨.
2⃣️Yongli Roast Goose Rice Noodles: The queue is very long. We ordered a four-combo and rice noodles. The goose intestines were quite good, but the goose meat near the breast was a bit dry, hard to judge. The rice noodles tasted very good. If you want to try, you can order it, but the long queue is not recommended.
