The Qingcheng Mountain Hot Spring Hotel caters to every diner with a delightful surprise.

We came for the private hot springs and mountain views, but ended up completely captivated by the daily meals. Even after checkout, we’re still dreaming about the flavors.

The morning surprise was the floating breakfast—a bamboo tray placed right by the terrace hot spring, delivered directly to our room. Soaking in the springs while eating and watching the mist rise over the lush mountains? That’s the ultimate vacation vibe.

For lunch, the must-try is the traditional Chinese hot pot. The broth, simmered to a milky richness, is perfect with local bamboo shoots and handmade tofu. The comforting warmth is a hit with families, while couples like us enjoy chatting over a simmering pot, with the mountain breeze drifting through the window—pure bliss.

Evenings are even livelier. Barbecue grills are set up on the lawn, sizzling with pork belly and sausages. Friends gathering for team-building events clink glasses, surrounded by the aroma of grilled food mingling with the scent of grass and trees. Everyone—young and old—leaves satisfied.

With its cozy post-modern Chinese-style hot spring rooms and incredible food, and just an hour’s drive from Chengdu, this trip was an absolute win.
