Mentai-ju is a Hakata specialty: a whole skewer of carefully marinated mentaiko wrapped in konbumi (kelp) placed on top of hot rice covered in nori seaweed!
I've always loved cod roe and mentaiko, so I was determined to try it! 😍
The price was surprisingly reasonable at ¥1,980! ✨
I like vegetables, so I ordered a salad separately. 🥗 ¥748.
The thick, meaty mentaiko is simply exquisite and delicious!
It went incredibly well with rice, so if you're a mentaiko fan, this is a must-try! 🩷
