Seeking tranquility amidst the streams and forested hills

Following the navigation instructions, we drove an additional five minutes along a winding mountain road before spotting the wooden sign of Linzhiyun Resort Villa. Nestled halfway up the mountain, it truly lives up to its reputation as a 'hidden retreat.' Opening the door to the 'Wendao・Xunwu Miyou' two-bedroom suite, we were greeted by a private garden adorned with blooming azaleas. The rattan tea table on the second-floor balcony offered a perfect view of the distant indigo peaks of Mount Qingcheng, with the breeze carrying the refreshing scent of grass and stream water.
Unable to resist, we set out to explore right after unpacking. The mountain trail beside the villa was carpeted with fallen leaves, and a few steps in, the sound of trickling water reached our ears. My child tugged at my hand, eager to run towards the creek. By evening, we asked the owner to help order takeout from the Shanse Forest Restaurant. Dining on the balcony as dusk fell, we watched the silhouette of Qingcheng's Taiqing Palace fade into the twilight. When the lanterns lit up, the scene exuded a serene charm, reminiscent of 'Zen guiding the destined.'
The next morning, we were awakened by birdsong. Sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting a warm glow on the wooden furniture in the room. My child sat at the desk doing homework, the natural light so perfect that no lamps were needed. Taking advantage of some free time, we visited the Qingcheng Mountain Historical and Cultural Museum, just a kilometer away. Upon our return, the owner was setting up a barbecue grill for us, saying, 'The stars are brightest halfway up the mountain. Grilling meat under the starlit sky is the best way to enjoy the night.'
As the villa gradually disappeared from view through the car window, I suddenly understood the meaning of 'If the mountain does not come to me, I will go to the mountain.' Every moment here is a cherished piece of mountain living romance.
