My Son Sanctuary: A UNESCO World Heritage Site in Vietnam

🏖️Overview:
My Son Sanctuary is located in a basin surrounded by mountains, about 40 km inland from the UNESCO World Heritage town of Hoi An in central Vietnam. This site has a rich history as part of the Champa Kingdom, which flourished through maritime trade from the 2nd to the 17th century. Over 70 brick-built shrines dedicated to Hindu gods remain here, and the site was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999.

💞Why It's Recommended:
In short, it resembles the "Dharma Temple" from the game 'Dragon Quest,' which made me want to visit it. Although the ruins show signs of wear and tear, the brick towers are impressive and worth seeing. The experience is truly exhilarating⤴️. Additionally, remnants of bomb craters from the Vietnam War can be seen in some areas, offering a glimpse into the scars of war.
