If you're planning a trip to the Chubu region from Nagoya, consider making a brief stop at Ena Gorge. I discovered this observatory near the red Ena Gorge Bridge, which seems like a natural stage designed for capturing stunning landscapes.
Here, you can take in the breathtaking view of the green canyon winding along the upper Kiso River, surrounded by unique rock formations. In the distance, you'll also see the majestic Central, Northern, and Southern Alps. During autumn, the vibrant red foliage blends beautifully with the emerald waters, adding an extra layer of charm.
Parking is convenient, with free spaces available right next to the observatory for 13 large tour buses and 12 regular cars. It's a friendly spot for both self-driving travelers and those arriving by bus.
📸 Photography Tips: Stand at a higher vantage point to capture both the bridge and the deep valley in one frame for an exceptional view. If you're lucky enough to spot a tour boat cruising through the gorge, use burst mode to capture the moment—an unexpected highlight of your trip!
