How to Explore Moerdaoga, Inner Mongolia

📅Route: Depart from Erguna City ➡️ Moerdaoga Forest Park ➡️ Stay overnight in Shiwei
🌳Gaode Map navigation to Moerdaoga Forest Park will take the Lamo route, which offers beautiful scenery along the way. You can stop to take photos where the road is wide, with grasslands, rivers, and cattle.
🎫Tickets: Self-driving ticket ¥50, small train ticket ¥100, combo ticket (self-driving + small train) ¥150

🚞Small Train Tour: The train runs on a loop, departing every 15 minutes. Each station stops for 3-5 minutes. You can get off at any station you like to explore and wait for the next train—super flexible!
🛤️Small Train Stops:
1️⃣ Zhangzi Pine Station | For those with good stamina
You need to climb a plank road to the top (about 20-30 minutes). It is said you can photograph the small train passing through the mountain forest from the top. It was cloudy with light rain when I was there, so I didn’t get off and missed it 😅
2️⃣ Garden Forest Station | Kids will love it
Children’s playground facilities, a big yellow umbrella in the woods, swings, and beautiful photo spots with sunlight filtering through the trees.
3️⃣ Forest Creekside Station | Plank road and creek perfect for photos
There is a viewing platform overlooking the forest stream.
4️⃣ Forest Pasture Station | Suitable for kids
It is said you can feed reindeer here. Maybe because it was autumn, I only saw two rabbits 🐰. The experience might be better in summer!

🌳The self-driving route is a one-way road from the park entrance to the exit, about 25 kilometers in total.
🏞️Self-driving stops:
🍂 Red Bean Slope: You can enjoy the shrubs of red bean trees under the pine trees and pick red beans in autumn.
🍂 Deer Trail: Experience the tranquil atmosphere of the forest.
🍂 One View Nine Ridges: Climb the viewing platform to overlook the layered mountains ahead. The view is very wide, allowing you to appreciate the majestic Daxing'anling mountain range and feel the grandeur of nature.
🍂 Hunter’s Road: There is a plank road for hiking into the forest to experience the tranquility of the primeval forest.
🍂 Ice Forest: You can see the unique “Old Man Tree” landscape. At the entrance, there are captive sika deer and roe deer. Staff said black bears often appear here.

🌳There are clear signboards at each attraction and large parking areas for convenient stops. There is also a free stamp 🕹️, so don’t miss it if you like collecting stamps.
🌳After leaving the park exit, drive towards Shiwei along the Genbai Road. Due to darkness, I couldn’t enjoy the autumn scenery on the way.

📍TIPS:
⚠️During peak season, you may have to queue for the small train. It can be crowded getting on and off, and seats are not guaranteed. You can take photos of the train tracks 🛤️ from the rear of the train.
⚠️The small train tour is more suitable for families with children, while self-driving is better for sightseeing.
⚠️The small train and self-driving tours follow completely different routes. Both take a lot of time, so plan your schedule carefully!
