A Hiker's Paradise: Switzerland in the Clouds

Here's a travel guide for Wangzhouding:

Preparation

- Equipment: Bring trekking poles to help reduce the burden of climbing. Wear non-slip shoes, sports shoes, or hiking boots, as well as a jacket, quick-drying clothes, and long-sleeved pants. Also, prepare a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen for sun protection, and bring a flashlight for night climbing.

- Items: Prepare enough water, at least 1-1.5L per person, as well as bread and snacks to satisfy your hunger. Also, bring a power bank, emergency blanket, etc. If possible, prepare knee pads to protect your knees.

- Other: Download hiking navigation apps such as "Liangbulu" in advance to easily view route tracks.

Transportation Guide

It is more convenient to drive or charter a car. Navigate to "Wangzhouding Parking Lot No. 1" or "Wangzhouding Parking Lot No. 2". It takes about 1.5-2 hours to drive from Nanning and about 3 hours to drive from Zhanjiang (all the way on the expressway).

Route Selection

- Route 1: 2.19 km in total length. The first 1.5 km is a tree-lined hiking trail with a gentle slope. The last 900m offers open views, and some sections have steep slopes. Suitable for going uphill. Many unique rock formations can be seen along this route, and the Stone Boat photo spot is nearby.

- Route 2: 2.75 km in total length. The first 2 km is an alpine meadow with beautiful scenery. The last 1.6 km enters a tree-lined section with a gentle slope. Suitable for going downhill. The popular swing is on this route.

Photo Spots

- Popular Swing: Located on Route 2, it's a great place to take photos and leave beautiful memories.

- Stone Boat: Near the small stalls selling goods at the summit, its unique shape resembles a stone boat docked on the top of the mountain.

- Bengshanding: Adjacent to the summit with small stalls, standing on Bengshanding, you can overlook a wider landscape and feel the magnificence of nature.

Precautions

- Pay attention to weather changes. It is not advisable to go on rainy days as the roads will be slippery. The scenery may not be good on cloudy days. It is recommended to climb on sunny days.

- It is windy and cold at the summit. Put on a jacket to keep warm after reaching the summit.

- Follow the regulations of the scenic area and proceed according to the designated routes. Do not deviate from the routes at will to avoid getting lost or encountering danger.

- Carry garbage bags with you, take the garbage down the mountain, and keep the scenic area clean.
