Fatima, Portugal is a place with deep religious significance, but even if you are not a believer, you can still have a moving experience.

The most famous place is the Santuário de Fátima, where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared in 1917. The large square is impressive, and the atmosphere is really special when the candlelight procession is held at night.

The Basilica and the Chapel of the Apparitions are also worth a visit.
