An Enchanting River Town

An unexpected, unique and enchanting experience.

Fenguang Ancient town is an hour from Zhangjiajie by high-speed rail, and definitely worth a visit! It only needs a day or 2 to take in all the sights and flavours.

The town itself is built up around the river, and offers a ton of photo opportunities. It has a unique look. It's best taken in at night time when it really comes to life.

Recommended:
A half-day visit to Qiliang Cave (breathtaking). There are local busses traveling to and from the cave so it's easy and cheap to get to.
Grab an early dinner in the town (be prepared for lots of spice, it's Hunan!).
Book a boat ride along the river.
Take a walk through the town, enjoy a drink in one of the many bars lining the river.
