The Museo dell'Opera del Duomo is located in Florence, Italy. It is a museum dedicated to the collection and display of original artworks from the Florence Cathedral (Santa Maria del Fiore) and its ancillary buildings (such as the Baptistery and Giotto's Bell Tower). The museum was founded in 1891 and is more accessible after a comprehensive renovation in 2015. If you stay for two days, the Giotto Pass is a good deal, including the Giotto Bell Tower, the Baptistery, the Museum and the Crypt of Santa Reparata. If you have enough energy, you can buy a full ticket to the dome of the Cathedral.
The most famous is Michelangelo's "Pietà", a sculpture originally created for his own tomb. And Ghiberti's "Gates of Paradise": originally the east door of the Baptistery, it has now been moved to the museum for exhibition. It now has more than 750 works of art, covering 720 years of history, and is known as the world's most important collection of sculptures.
