Piazza della Signoria, built in 1299, was once the political center of the Medici family. Piazza della Signoria boasts numerous statues, including a replica of the famous David and the Fountain of Neptune. The artist's skill in sculpting the muscles and ridges of the human body is remarkably realistic and beautiful. Each sculpture captures the ideal of the body's curves and tells a compelling story.
There's also a pavilion for cool air and free water. The completely open-air replicas of famous artworks are available for photo opportunities. Nearby are the Loggia della Signoria, the Palazzo Vecchio, the Fountain of Neptune, and the Uffizi Gallery. Florence's Town Hall, with its tower offering panoramic views of the city, is also worth a visit. While in the square, stop by the Fontana del Porcellino, the Wild Boar Fountain, a place where many people would drop coins in hopes of wealth.
